utobiography of a Yogi is an account of Sri Paramahansa Yogananda’s spiritual journey and his meetings with people who inspired and influenced him. His curiosity about spirituality led him to come across several Indian saints and gurus, along with some famous international personalities. Paramahansa Yogananda talks about Lahiri Mahasaya, and about his search to find his own guru, which culminated in his meeting Sri Yukteswar Giri, who, in turn, was a follower of Lahiri Mahasaya. Yogananda later spent several years in the ashram of Sri Yukteswar Giri, focusing on Yoga and spiritual knowledge. He also spent many years mastering Kriya Yoga. Yogananda later moved to America and lived there, teaching yoga and meditation to the western world. He also describes his meetings with people such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sir C.V. Raman, Rabindranath Tagore, Jagadish Chandra Bose, Luther Burbank, Therese Neumann, and Ramana Maharishi.
