बिहार के बेगूसराय ज़िले के छोटे से गाँव रतनमन बभनगामा में जन्मे अजीत भारती की शुरूआती शिक्षा सैनिक स्कूल तिलैया में हुई। किरोड़ीमल कॉलेज़ (DU) से अंग्रेज़ी साहित्य में स्नातक किया। तदोपरांत पत्रकारिता में स्नातकोत्तर किया। फिर TOI, ET और IANS में काम किया। फिर सहायक प्रोफ़ेसर के रूप में दिल्ली के एक कॉलेज़ में पत्रकारिता की शिक्षा भी दी। आजकल शिकागो से संचालित एक न्यूज़ पोर्टल में सहायक संपादक हैं। हिंदी और देवनागरी लिपि को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए, अपने मित्र सान्निध्य द्वारा शुरू किए गए फ़ेसबुक पेज़ ‘बकर अड्डा’ से जुड़े और वहाँ व्यंग्य, संस्मरण, कविता, कहानियाँ लगातार लिखते रहे।
